JAMES T. LAMONT
ALFRED STATION- James T. Lamont, 73, of Keynon Rd. passed away Tuesday April 25, 2017 at the Buffalo VA Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Leominster Massachusetts on January 13, 1944, he was the son of the late Leo and Helen (Hoffman) Lamont. On March 6, 2010, he was married to Susan VanOxx Baker who survives. Jim proudly served his country until his retirement in 1981 from the United States Airforce. After his retirement from the Airforce he worked as a security officer for Loomis Fargo in Las Vegas. A devote computer geek, Jim also enjoyed to hunt and fish and was a devoted and loving husband. His family includes his wife of seventeen years Susan Baker; his step-children Julie Van Kouwenburg of Illinois, Tracy Carey of Pa., Michelle Baker of Alfred Station, Michael Baker of Knoxville Tn. And Shane Baker of Hornell; his 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; his 2 sisters Mary Robbins of Hornell and Sharon Sanchez of Arizona; several nieces and nephews; his friends Vince Claude and Tyler Sherman and his cat Stuart. The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell is honored to serve the family of James T. Lamont. A memorial service with military honors will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday May 5, 2017 at the Bath National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his name to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd., Hornell, NY 14843.
