|LOUISE D. LaFRANCE
HORNELL-Louise D. LaFrance, 84, of Hornell, passed away late Thursday morning (Oct. 15, 2015) at Hornell Gardens, with her loving son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Linda LaFrance at her side.
Born in West Haven, Conn. on Aug. 6, 1931 she was the daughter of the late William and Geraldine Niblet Doherty. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her two brothers, Billy and Jerry Doherty.
A graduate of West Haven (Conn.) High School, class of 1949, Louise was employed by the Veterans Administration Medical Center in West Haven before her retirement.
After retiring she moved to Hornell about 20 years ago and assisted her family as a baker at the Country Kitchen in Hornell; she loved her job there and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Throughout the years Louise had several interests including, being a member of the “Red Hat Ladies”, needlepoint, spending time at her home, and while residing at Hornell Gardens she liked to play bingo.
Her family includes her two sons, Theodore “Ted” (Linda) LaFrance of Hornell and Robert (Megan) LaFrance of New Hampshire; her six grandchildren, Karl LaFrance of Arkport, Grant (Lauren) LaFrance of North Hornell, Jessica, Robin, Adrian and Abby LaFrance; her great-grandchildren including, Holly and Autumn LaFrance and Angelina and Adam LaFrance; her brother, Jack Doherty of Wilmington, N.C.
The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell is honored to serve the family of Louise D. LaFrance.
To honor her wishes there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held in her memory at the convenience of the family.
