|JOHN E. WATKINS
CANASERAGA/ARKPORT-John E. Watkins, 45, passed early Monday morning (May 12, 2014).
Born in North Hornell on August 30, 1968, John resided in Canaseraga before moving to Arkport 13 years ago.
He was a graduate of Canaseraga Central School where he was a member of the soccer team.
On June 16, 1998 he was married in Canaseraga to the former, Tina Wing, who survives and resides in Arkport.
John was employed as a construction worker for Local Union No. 435 of Rochester.
A social member of the Fawcett American Legion Post No 1582 in Canaseraga, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, his Harley-Davidson motorcycle as well as doing yard work.
His loving family includes his 15 year old son, Hunter Watkins of Arkport; his parents, Sandra and Taylor Fritts of Canaseraga; his companion and friend, Dawn Mess of Arkport; his brothers and sisters, Elizabeth (Bill) Heselton, David (Vicki) Watkins, Melissa (Ethan) Flint all of Canaseraga and Matthew (Kim) Watkins of Montana; his stepbrother and sisters, Taylor W. Fritts of Leroy, Vicki Long (Allan) of Rochester, Carolyn (Don) Harter of Hilton and Alicia (Jason) Dingman of Fancher; also his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of John E. Watkins.
There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held in his memory, at the convenience of his family, at the Larger Parish Church in Canaseraga, with Rev. Jess Flint officiating.
Family and friends are invited to a luncheon that will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday (May 24) at the Canaseraga American Legion Post.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his memory to a fund established for his son, Hunter; please make checks payable to Vicki Watkins and send them to Steuben Trust Company, 29 Main St., P.O. Box 468, Arkport, N.Y. 14807.
