ROCHESTER-Tyler S. "Ty" Davis, 19, of Rochester, and a student at St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, passed away unexpectedly Sunday (Nov. 24, 2013) in Allegany.

Born in Rochester on July 14, 1994, he was the son of Stephen and Lynn Watt Davis.

Ty attended St. John Evangelist School, the Sienna Catholic Academy and graduated from Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester and presently he was a sophomore at St. Bonaventure University, majoring in history education.

An avid sportsman, Ty was a member of the varsity baseball team at Bishop Kearney High School and for 12 years he played for the Eastside Little League in Rochester. He was a devoted fan of the N.Y. Yankees and Cincinnati Reds baseball teams as well as the St. Louis Rams football; and while attending St. Bonaventure University he enjoyed being a spectator at their basketball games.

He especially liked to fish and hunt and enjoyed spending time with his family hunting at hunting camps in Whitesville and West Union. Ty also collected comic books and loved to read and write and once aspired to become a writer.

He will be remembered most of all for being a very polite, kind and understanding young man who was also very compassionate and showed his compassion to others in many different ways. Ty was a very loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend who had a wonderful sense of humor and was always willing to share a joke. He was dearly loved by everyone he met and will be sadly missed.

His loving family includes his mother Lynn of Rochester; his father, Stephen of Grove City, Pa.; his maternal grandparents, John and Anne Watt of Hornell; his paternal grandparents, Leo and Doris Davis of Hornell; his aunts and uncles, David and Nancy Watt of North Hornell, Michael and Melissa Watt of Mooresville, N.C., James Davis of Cedar Park, Tx., David Davis of Rochester, Laura Davis of Henrietta, Robert Davis of Grove City, Pa., Kathryn and Michael Pavloff of Missouri and Dorie and Michael Landreth of Avoca; also his many cousins and his loving girlfriend, Kathleen Bateman

He was predeceased by his great-grandmother, Doris Moncofsky; his uncle Harold Davis as well as several special great aunts and uncles.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell. Relatives and friends are invited to meet his family at St. Ann's Church in Hornell where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday.
