Patricia was born April 14, 1936 at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell. For the first 50 years of her life she resided in the city of Hornell. She attended Irving school, Hornell High School and Alfred Agricultural and Technical Institute.

On October 26, 1957, Patsy married George Prete. Through nearly 64 years of marriage, she was a loving wife and mother of Laura Ann Prete (deceased), Barbara Ann (Christopher) Maker of Arkport, Georgi-Ann “Gigi” Prete of Quincy, MA, and Mark Joseph Prete of Arkport. She was the loving “nana” of Rosario (Catherine) Prete of Williamson, NY, Lindsey (Stephen) Nichols of Hornell, Anthony (Amanda) Prete of Rochester, NY, Jared (Hannah) Maker of Arkport, Brianne Maker of Arkport; and the loving great-nana of Amelia Prete, Mason, Charlotte and Nash Nichols, Barrett Maker and Max & Oliver. She is further survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn (Donald) Coogan; and in-laws, John and Patricia Prete, Francis and Cecelia Prete and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and daughter, Pat was predeceased by her sister, MaryAnn (Gene) Dungan; her mother and father in-law, Rosario & Philomena Prete; and brothers-in-law Gene Dungan and Joseph Prete.

During her high school years, Pat worked at Supreme Ice Cream, was active in many school clubs, and was captain of the Hornell Red Raider cheerleaders her senior year. She also worked at the Koskie Music Store, the Cameo Shop, Bell Telephone as an operator, and later as an employee of St. James Mercy Hospital in the Purchasing and Radiology departments.

She was president of the Bryant School PTA; a Cinderella Softball League coach, CCD instructor and volunteer with Faith in Action. She enjoyed playing BUNCO and scratching lottery tickets.
