|Allis D. Weaver
ALFRED-Allis D. Weaver, of Glen St., passed away peacefully, at Elderwood at Hornell, surrounded by her loving family, after celebrating her 87th birthday on Friday evening, Dec. 15, 2017.
Born in Syracuse on Dec. 15, 1930, she was a daughter of the late William F. Davis and Georgia E. (Aldridge) Davis. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband of 54 years, John H. Weaver in 2004; her son, John Scott Weaver and several beloved sisters and brothers.
A former resident of Dansville and Dundee, Allis has resided in Alfred for the past year.
Throughout the years she was employed as a lab technician at the Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, as a secretary for the Penn Yan Express and as a court attendant for the Yates County Court in Penn Yan.
Allis was a former member of the Eastern Star in Dundee and the Dundee Methodist Church where she loved to sing in the choir. While residing in Alfred she attended the Union University Church.
She enjoyed knitting and sewing, but especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.
Her loving family includes her son, Kenneth J. (Joanne) Weaver of Luzerne, Pa.; her daughter-in-law, Marion O. Weaver of Olmstedville, N.Y.; her six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; as well as her nieces and nephews.
The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of Allis D. Weaver.
To honor her wishes there will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held in her memory at the Union University Church in Alfred and a date and time to be announced.
