Karen enjoyed many activities throughout her life. 4H as a child with her mother; drawing, painting, sewing and crafting throughout her entire life. She thoroughly enjoyed making Sarah and Caitlin's Halloween costumes for them during their childhood and as Sarah got older she personally made nearly every single prom dress she ever wore, and there were a lot, even though she often was sewing her into to them moments before she walked out the door. Karen also spent a lot of time as the dugout "mother" while her girls spent years playing softball. She found pure joy in her profession as a maternity nurse, first at St. James Hospital in Hornell, then later at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls. She loved caring for expectant mothers, new mothers and especially the newborn babies.
